Elm Hill, Norwich

By Danielle Togher

Before I left for England, my older sister gave me a great piece of advice that stuck with me. She studied abroad two years ago in Rome and has been under the impression, since then, that she is more cultured than all of us. I learned to just nod my head and pretend to agree with her. Sometimes, I even give her a big head by telling her I will take her advice.

Greenwich

Our visit to Greenwich on Thursday was a memorable experience that I would recommend to anyone as a place to go if they want to just get away from the city and enjoy the open space, beautiful views, and incredible history. The historical buildings we visited were fantastic but my favorite part of Greenwich was the atmosphere. The buildings and gardens were beautiful and the sunny weather definitely had an impact on the whole experience. I would suggest to people visiting Greenwich that they use the entire day so they can take their time walking around the sites including the observatory and the chapel of St. Peter and St. Paul, which were incredible. I would suggest this so they had time to also visit the town itself. We only walked around when we first arrived and when we were leaving but from what I saw, Greenwich town is very charming.

“Top Secret”

By Danielle Togher

Anyone who has ever lived in or visited London knows how expensive it can be, which can put a downer on your experience. One Saturday night, my friend and I went on a hunt to find fun, cheap things to do. We found discounts for a comedy club called Top Secret Comedy Club and thought we would try it out. It was located five minutes from the Covent Garden tube station. I didn’t know what to expect, but it cost us only £5 per ticket. There were a total of four acts, and each comedian had his or her own style and material. By the end of the performance, my mouth hurt from laughing so much. I highly recommend this comedy club because it was not only an incredible night, but it also didn’t put a dent in my wallet.
